How long do you have to seek medical treatment to be able to qualify for PIP benefits?
In order to qualify for PIP benefits in the state of Florida, you must seek treatment for your medical injuries as they are related to an accident within 14 days of the date of the accident. That does not mean that you have to go to the ER. It does not mean that you have to go to the hospital. You just have to receive medical treatment from a physician within 14 days of the date of the accident. If you don’t receive that medical treatment within 14 days, then you will lose your right to those benefits entirely.
