What happens to my Social Security disability benefits when I reach retirement age?

Video Transcription

Once you reach retirement age with Social Security disability, it transfers automatically into your retirement benefits. So it’s on a sliding age scale now where it used to be age 65 for everybody. Some is age 66, 67, 68, depending on the year you were born. So when you reach retirement age for purposes of the Social Security Administration, not for everything else, just Social Security Administration, they will automatically transfer your benefits to be retirement benefits and you don’t have to do anything to make that happen.
