What is the purpose of obtaining uninsured or underinsured motorist coverage?
In the State of Florida it is very important to have uninsured or underinsured motorist coverage. What this coverage does is it protects you if someone hits you and does not have any bodily injury coverage, and you sustained injuries. It is not required in the State of Florida for someone to have bodily injury coverage in order to drive, so therefore if they get into an accident and they injure you and you don’t have uninsured or underinsured motorist coverage, you are not going to be compensated for your injuries.
